Into the Wild

Eddie Vedders album Into the Wild er for mig årets bedste indtil nu, selvom det blev udgivet allerede i 2007. Jeg har først fået kendskab til albummet i år og synes, det er helt fantastisk. Into the Wild er blevet til som soundtrack til Sean Penns film af samme navn.

Filmen handler kort fortalt om en ung mand, der drager ud i Alaskas vildmark på flugt fra den moderne verdens materialisme og egoisme.

Albummet udmærker sig ved at passse utroligt godt til filmen både i tekst og stemning. Samtidig udgør albummet et hele, hvor sangene kommer i naturlig forlængelse af hinanden og er indholdsmæssigt forbundne. Der er altså ikke bare tale om elleve sange, der tilfældigvis er havnet på den samme plade. Nej, det er gennemført og fantastisk. Her kommer teksterne til et par af mine favoritter:
